I started painting after retiring from the Air Force. I’ve traveled a lot and I’ve seen some beautiful places, so my paintings are primarily landscapes. Lately, they’re of my present desert surroundings in Arizona and the lakes and autumn colors of Michigan.
I drip, splatter and throw acrylic or latex paint on canvas, creating abstract landscapes of bright color. My paintings are thick with color. When light changes intensity or direction, the raised areas of paint cast shadows, adding even more depth to the scenes. I’m color deficient, so my paintings are usually bold and may not represent the true colors of nature.
I have more than 25 years of publication design and writing experience.
